No Desktop Icons 2

I have a clients machine and am unable to have any desktop icons. I have ran stinger and adware and removed almost everything i can think of. Norton is installed, but the definitions were out of date. Even when I right click on the desktop and select New Folder, it won't create a new folder on the desktop. Shortcuts won't appear on the desktop. Absolutely nothing with show up on the desktop. Anyone have any ideas???

See if the Desktop icons are turned off. Right-click blank area of Desktop and look under "Arrange icons by".

Thanks linney some sod did to me the other day and a mate fixed it while I was away from my desk but I did not know what he had done

That is where System Restore comes in handy.
