I have just upgraded our domain to Server 2003 Standard. I have both Windows 2000 and XP boexes (total of 20) running on the Network. 2 boxes (one XP and the other a 2000) are not being issued a default gateway. They are receiving and address, subnet mask, DNS server, Etc. BUT NO Default Gateway.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?

Update:

I cannot find any difference in the settings of each machine on the network. I think it may be something in the DHCP server and those two computers.

Just put static ip's in for those and be done with it

I know this sounds obviouse but have you tried good old ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew

Failing that uninstalling the card and reinstalling it might kick it into life.

I have got the answer.
in the DHCP server - the router (default gateway) was removed by accident. On the XP machines, they somehow resolved the DG by themselves, but the 2000 machines couldn't. I re-entered the router (DG) in the DHCP console and wa-la each compter will get the DG from the server now.

-Thanks for all of the suggestions.

The info in your first post conflicts with the solution a bit. Quote from your original post "(one XP and the other a 2000) are not being issued a default gateway"

Glad you sorted tho. :)

I apologize, The XP machine in question is not part of the domain, but would login to shared folders on the File Server. Because it would not login to the Domain,it was not getting a Default Gateway address from the DHCP server
