I've asked you guys which software to use for Call Accounting on my Merlin magix and Tapit was the one that was mentioned numerous times.
I've downloaded the software and started the setup, but I'm stuck at the beginning testing the SMDR port for data using HyperTerminal.
Unfortunately I have no idea if I have a 355a adapter hooked up to the switch connected the PC we use WinSPM on. Remote office so I'm guessing it's not hooked up since HyperTerminal connects to COM1 but returns no data. Would that be a correct assumption? Or do I have to enable something on the switch to allow the data to be outputed from the SMDR port? Thanks

SMDR streams out all by itself.

You would need a SEPERATE 355 Adapter, and what ever adapters and cables also to connect to your Serial Port on your Computer.

For the last several years, most computers, if they have a serial port at all, are equipped with a 9 pin, thus you would need a 9 Pin to 25 Pin adapter. Sometimes a gender changer is also required.

Good luck!
