No COBOL pre-compiler?

Years ago I did a project with OS/2, DB2/2 and Micro Fcous COBOL. This was, to my personal opinion, a very good mix.

Now, at home, I've got an old computer running OS/2, the Micro Focus workbench installed and recently I've "obtained"(dont't ask, they probably throw it away otherwise) a CD with DB2V7.1 for OS/2. Just for fun and home use.

So now I've re-created the same configuration... I thought.
But the DB2 COBOL environment seems to be missing. On my more modern XP computer (DB2V8.1 and NetExpress) it is all there, so it is not like REXX, that IBM dropped it at a certain point in time.

What am I missing here?

I dont have OS2 so not much help.

But if this was not the case I would try to remove both, then install MF first, then DB2.

A second install may be required after the first.

And by browsing my CDs of v7.1 for OS2, it does have the cobol samples on it, so maybe the only thing you need is the correct command to precompile and bind the programs. (embprep, which executes the main command line program "db2").

If you are referring to something else then I am afraide that I cant help further without a OS2 to try it on.
