First time Windows 2000 user and I just noticed that there is no CD-RW to backup my files. Now I read Microsoft's article about this but in part were it says select "File" the File part is grayed out on the Backup Utility.

I have CD burning software whuch is Nero 5.5.8.1 w/InCD

Please help

The Windows 2000 backup software does not support backing up to recordable CD or DVD formats directly. Best option is to back up to a file then burn the file to CD, or just use Nero to back up the files/folders to the CD directly.

Yes, Im using Nero CD Burner to backup my data on CD-R

Thanks

If you are using Nero, you can ignore Microsoft's instructions for using its backup software.
All you need to make sure is that your computer has writable CD or DVD drive compatible with your version of Nero, and if not, to get the appropriate Nero engine update.
