No Caller ID from CM 8.5 to AT&T phones on 3G

I'm having a weird issue: when a user calls from their CM phone to a AT&T cell phone, the caller ID comes up as unknown. It only happens on AT&T phones on 3G. If you force the cell phone to 2G, the caller ID comes through fine. All other carriers both cell and landline the caller ID works fine. This thread talks about this problem:


It states that there's something to be done on CM to fix the issue but it doesn't say what the fix is. Has anyone else come across this or have any idea what the fix is?

We had the problem as well, but only with certain of their cell sites, coincidentally the one nearest our corporate office (in the Galleria Area of Houston, TX).

The problem was with the carrier (AT&T) & since we are a major account we were able to open a ticket directly with them. This is not going to be of any help to you, as I do not know what they did to resolve the issue, as the problem was within their network, but they did get it fixed within a week to 10 days.

The thread you refer to is talking about the T1-PRI signalling protocol configuration. This is changed on your gateway router, i.e., typically a Cisco 3945, not in the call manager. NI2 and NI1 refer to National ISDN-1 and National ISDN-2, tho I didn't know it made any difference (1 vs 2) since the parameter is only "ni" for the ISDN switch type, at least that's how ours are configured. Other supported switch types are 4ess and qsig
