Hi;I just updated to Sp3,everything is working fine but,I don't see the C drive in device manager,or in disk manager, storage section? D,E,is there no C Drive? I double click my computer and the C Drive is there? What's up with this, anyone help me out here? checked jumpers on drives master slave setup is all ok.Is this normal, please help? thankyou.

Which drive is XP installed on? Do you see the same if you boot into Safe Mode, or in Normal Mode but with a different user?

Malware can hide drives in Disk Management.

I see lots of recommendations here for programs like -

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

SuperAntispyware

Have a look at things like this to see if anything has been "set", although I would expect it to apply to "My Computer" also.

xp is on drive C. I see the drive ok in my computer, but not in device manager,or disk management? I have ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware,comes up clean.Same thing in safe mode,in device manager ATA Controllers master drive is greyed out.? What's happening here?

Just for the heck of it, go to START RUN and type %SystemDrive%

then hit OK

See if it brings up a windows with the contents of C: listed and it actually says "C:" at the top.

Do other "snap-ins" such as Disk Defrag work on C:?

If you have this specific reported corruption anywhere in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\*ControlSet*\*" - you will likely have issues with your device manager (and more). It will not be resolved until you remove those entries."

Device Manager may not show any devices and Network Connections may not show any network connections after you install Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3)
