I am having a problem with 2 DN on our BCM400. When the user tries to make a call, no dial tone is given and a "No Button Free" message appears on the display. Additionally, anyone trying to call that DN get a busy signal. I made sure the DND feature was turned off.

I am sure it is a programming problem since they have been trying to learn how to transfer a call on these phones. I suspect they have inadvertently played in the "features" of the system without knowing what they were doing.

Is there a way to see a list of what features are turned on for a particular DN? A report maybe? I could look at a working DN and see what the differences were at least.

I have rebooted the BCM just to make sure it wasn't the problem.

We are using version 4.0.2.03a of the BCM software. The phones are SpectraLink PTB410 handsets.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Sounds like there are no intercom keys on the phone.
How do you dial out? Intercom and press 9?
Go into the EM under telephony ,sets, active sets ,clik on the extension and look for I/C change it to 2 or what ever the other phones have.
To check the buttons press feature * 0.

Yes, we use Intercom and press 9 to get an outside line.

I checked the settings and it matched another working set.

It has:
Prime Line: I/C
Intercom Keys: 1
Control Set: 290
First Display: Name
Auto Called ID: unchecked

Pressing Feature * 0 on these phones equates to "Release Calls".

I went to the Button Programming Table and the first 8 buttons are all "blank", Button 9 is different between the two, and button 10 is set to "Intercom". Button 9 for the working set is marked "Answer DN:" but the not working set is marked "Blank".

What else should I check?

I have a system backup that was done prior to this problem. I can probably restore the configuration from it and in theory should fix my problem.

Do you know what section(s) I should restore to fix this problem?

Thanks,

Chris
