I have a customer that has a partner 7.0 and when they are on the phone and someone calls them from another ext it just rings and never notifies them. How can I make this give a busy signal?

Depending on what Call Coverage is programmed for the station, you can add a Do Not Disturb button to force a busy tone. Otherwise you will only get a busy on the station when both intercom paths to that station are inuse. You get an abbreviated ring when on the phone (line or intercom) and the light will just flash after the first ring. The Abbreviated Ring is factory default.

Do they have the ring volume turned way down? Do they see the flashing Intercom button?

You can turn off the Abbreviated Ring and have the station ring continuous. You might want to read the feature explanation in the manual. It is quite complete and covers all the options. It can be downloaded from support.avaya.com for free.

Happy reading...

Since there are two intercom paths, it's hard to make an extension busy. Put a DND button on the phone, they can turn that on and off.

Also, set Abbreviated Ring to "2-Not Assigned", so when a 2nd call comes to thrn, it will ring more than once.
