For no reason I can't attain the company that prints our documents is suddenly having problems with the Avant Garde BK BT font with bold attribute set.
When they open a coral draw document I have created they report that there is no bold instances of this font in the document. This is not what I see when I open the document, I see all instances that I set the bold attribute being displayed with the bold font. In addition they report that there is no bold option for this font.
Is there a setting or something that could be causing this?
Any ideas?

It is possible they are substituting a different Avant Garde font - as it appears yours is a bold or black font. This would make the font appear bold on your system, while only typed in "normal" case (as the bold feature is usually locked "on" in bold or black fonts).

Another option is to send them your font - to ensure that you are both using the same font - without question. Of course be sure to verify licensing and copyright....blah blah blah...(insert rest of legal disclaimer here).

If all else fails, you could convert the text to curves. Of course, it will no longer be editable, but it will print as you see it.

Finally, is it possible they are using a different platform then Corel? Just importing the *.cdr file into an Adobe platform? This usually has pretty weird and bizaare results for some reason. You might ensure that you are using the same version and same platform - if it is different, you could try exporting your file as their native platform. Again, this almost always seems to be problematic - especially with properly converting location and placement of text - but worth a shot. Usually a bit of experimenting yeilds a file format that works equally well for both of you. Also, try to verfiy that you are both using the same versions in your settings. Or if they are actually using Corel, verify the version - you may have a newer version.

Hope this gets you pointed in the right direction
