I have just purchased a new XP computer (had WinME before) and after installing Photshop 6 I no longer have the option to open or save BMP files.

Does anyone have an idea of where I went wrong on the install.

Nothing can happen because BMP file types are not listed as a file type to open or save. If I try opening any BMP file from Explorer, then whilst Photshop will open, I get the error message "Could not open because it is not the right kind of document". However, they will open in say MSpaintshop.

Did you include BMP as a supported file type when you installed Photoshop?

Thanks kiddpete. I thought I had done so, but to check I just uninstalled and installed Photoshop and check marked all file types and now the BMP is an open and save option.

Thanks again.
