Hope someone can help.

I have recently rebuilt one of my bdc's. There was constant disk activity when logged on. I figured out what was causing this by renaming the bdc, once this was done the disk activity stopped (this server used to hold the roaming profiles).

Now that I have renamed the server back to its otiginal name |I cannot see it in server manager but it still can contact the rest of the network. I have tried to add it in manually but it is greyed out, indicating that the server has not been added correctly. Does anyone know how to get this server back into server manager?

The IP config is correct.

Thanks

Phil

The NT Resource Kit has a utlity call (NLTEST.exe)

Try running:

nltest /SC_RESET:yourdomaintheserverbelongstoo /SERVER:hostname

ex:)

nltest /SC_RESET:DomainA /SERVER:MyBDC
