after installing Win98 I lost all audio. Can anyone help??

Hi,

Have you installed the sound card drivers (check device manager), or are they installed and have a yellow caution mark against them to indicate no drivers are installed.

John

As said check in the device manager to check that the drivers have been installed. If they are not and the system is not auto detecting the card then you'll either need to use some software to identify the chipset or open the case and look for some identifying marks on the soundcard or chipset if on-board.

Check your system.ini file - make sure you have the lines which reads :

drivers=mmsystem.dll
sound.drv=mmsound.drv

in the [boot] section
