Hi,

I have an IPO 7.0 running all norstar digital phones except for 4 internal 9608 and 1 external 9608.
The external 9608 does not have Audio when he calls any of the 4 internal 9608 but has no problem talking to the digital sets.

I think i know what the problem is but i don't know how to fix it.

The external phone is running on lan2 with a public IP of 68.179.xxx.xxx
The internal phones are running on lan1 on a private ip of 10.0.0.6

I'm guessing the external phone and internal phone are not seeing each other because of being on different networks so how do i fix this, is there a route or a bridging option i can turn on to link the two together?

Thanks

turn off direct media path on the IP extensions

Interrupt the silence only if you improve it by saying something, otherwise be quiet and everybody will be grateful.

Although turning off DMP usually works i still think you need to fix the root of this cause.
The phones do not know where they both are.
So this means the routing is not OK.
Is there any IP route in the IPO pointing to Lan2?
Can you show us all IP routes?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks i will try to disable the direct media path.

I cant seem to upload a screen shoot of the routing table .. ill try the direct media path relay fort and let you know.

Thanks!

It is more likely to be the routing tables in your internal network/internet router rather than the ip routes in the ip office.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

update: the direct media path option fixed the issue.. thanks guys

And solved it, sometimes you just cannot get the proper routing due to unwilling/stubborn/idiot LAN technicians who refuse to look at it stating "My network is okay, you don't know nothing of IP Routing so get lost".
Then I disable Direct mediapath.

Indeed for only one (remote) phone this is a solution.
If you talk about 20 or more phones then it should be fixed properly.
