Hello, I am using a Linksys Wireless G router, and wireless card for my win98 SE notebook. What is happening is I can connect to the Internet with the notebook, however, when going into the properties of the connection, I see the message "No Association With Access Point". I am unable to see the properties of my connection, yet I am on the internet.

I have downloaded the latest driver from the linksys website, with no luck.

You should be able to go into the router an see if it sees your machine or not . just use your browser to get into the router to take a look .

As vipergg suggested, you should at least if using DHCP see yourself as a client from the router.

While exploring the router through its web interface, make certain that you have not inadvertantly enabled authentication schemas that are not matched with the client.

To me it sounds as if your DHCP populated TCP/IP values for Gateway and DNS servers are corrected, but you likely are not authenticating for local LAN traffic because of a WEP or WPA failure.

The notebook in question is able to access the internet. I have an assigned IP address. The default gatway and DHCP Server are both the IP address of the wireless router. I can see other computers on the home network. I am definately connected to the internet. I am writing this post on the laptop having the problem.

However, when I look up the properties of the Wireless G Notebook Adapter (by the computer clock), the message that appears is "No Association with Access Point".

A Background - the computer originally had Windows 98 (1st edition). I had to install Windows 98 SE (over top) in order to use the wireless connectivity, as 1st edition is not supported.

Recently I was looking at the settings within Network Properties on the "Wireless G Notebook Adapter" under "Advanced", however no different settings within here did anything different.
