NNTP and List

I am stuck on a peice of work that i have to do and wondered if anyone can help me. Even if it is a better place to put this thread.

My problem is that i have to put into some sample code a few lines to draw up a list of newsgroups that are there. The program already connects to the news groups but it will not tell me which ones are there, i know that the answer is 'list' but i can not figure out how to use it.

It might be working already. It will take a very long time
to download the list during which, unless the command
lives on it's own thread and provides some indication of
it's progress, the app will appear frozen. Try using
the list command on a seperate thread and updating some
field with the number of group names read at intervals,
followed by a yeild command to allow a screen update.
