My Netware 5.1 w/ sp4 is abending daily with an NMI parity error. It is my Groupwise 5.5 server. It is also running Arcserve 6.6 with the lastest patches for Arcserve applied. It seems to only be abending when Arcserve is loaded. We usually leave arcserve unloaded for a few days with no problems, but as soon as we load it, it locks up hard within the next 24 hours.

Has anyone out there heard of a similar problem? We have swapped out all the memory, the motherboard and the DDS4 tape drive. When the server locks, it just puts the message "NMI Parity error at <memory address>", at the top of the screen and the server is completely locked. Only option at this point is to power off the server.

I have a somewhat similar With a Dell 6300 NT 4.0 Exchange 5.5 server. The original 521 mb RAM has been swapped and then increased to 1024mb. The SCSI driver has been removed and reinstalled. The SCSI card has been moved from a 64 bit to a a 32 bit slot. All to no avail. The next step will be to swap identical SCSI cards. I continue to get one of the two messages below, on a weekly basis, at which time the server blue screens, hangs, but rarely produces a .dmp file. I am able to reboot and bring up the server.
I'd be glad to hear from anyone with a similar problem and/or possible solutions.

Hardware Malfunction NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error

OR:

STOP: 0X0000000A (0X00000004, 0X00000004, 0X0000000,
0X0801F0274)
IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Address 801f0274 has base at 801e8000-aic78u2.sys

I would suggest in both cases checking the actual processors in the machines (reseating them if necessary) or even if your memory is located on a daughter board getting that checked out. An NMI error is definately hardware related.

With the IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error, try updating the SCSI drivers or reapplying the latest SP -----------------------------------------------------
