Does anyone know where I can find a list of Netware NLM's (4x and 5x) and the purpose of each? Netware 5.1 in particular has several that I can only guess what they do. Thanks.

Barry

If you type MODULES at the console prompt (MODULES or M on NetWare 5.x), a list will appear with the NLM names, version, and also a very brief description. Failing that, post which ones you want to know and we will try and help. -----------------------------------------------------

MODULES' decription is very brief, but I guess it will do for now. Some NLMs, which look like they are being loaded from the autoexec.ncf, are not listed in MODULES. For example:

LOAD PORTAL.NLM
Load httpstk.nlm /SSL /keyfile:"SSL CertificateIP"
LOAD NLDAP

I see nothing in MODULES referring to these NLMs, although the lines above are in the autoexec.ncf. Could you explain these lines? Thanks.

Barry

PORTAL.NLM/HTTPSTK:
Novell's release of NetWare 5.1 contains remote management capabilities through the NetWare Management Portal utility, or "Portal" for short. Portal uses an Internet browser to view and manage server information, similar to what you can do through the ConsoleOne and the MONITOR utilities.
PORTAL.NLM loads the corresponding HTTPSTK module (for small HTTP interface support)

NLDAP:
LDAP Services for NDS is a NetWare server application (nldap.nlm) that allows LDAP clients to access information stored in NDS.

The above is correct - but if it ain't listed in MODULES, it ain't loaded. -----------------------------------------------------
