Hi!

Got a problem concerning CF card on a NIU2 (FW R11A)

The CF I´m using is a "noname" 256 MB card, and I can´t format it, NIU2 answers with a " !!!disk_read_err " message.

The "atinfo" command responds with:

Device 0 status=50, error=0, bytes/sec = 504000, Model TRANSCEND
CYL =500 (1F4), HD =16 (10), SEC =63 (3F)
total LBA sectors = 504000 (7B0C0)
Multiple Word DMA modes supported: 0 1 2
NIU loves this drive!!!
Minimum DMA cycle time: 120 ns
Recommended DMA cycle time: 120 ns
Minimum PIO cycle time(w/o IORDY): 120 ns
Minimum PIO cycle time(w/ IORDY): 120 ns

The CF is FAT formatted and works fine in a PC.

I have no problems with other CF delivered from Ericsson, so I suspect that the NIU2 is not compatible with the TRANSCEND CF...

The "NIU loves this drive!!!" message is quite funny :-D

hello,
I too have the same problems with the Transcend, I think it is a problem of formatting.
But now I have no resolution

there are only a few flash brands supported on the NIU2

the ones I know of are Toshiba and SanDisk. Transcend is a no go.

if you have an IPLU board, you can take the flash from that board and put it on your NIU. the transcend wil work on the IPLU.

Cheers,
Daddy
