Hi, MD freaks,

Does anybody know, if it is possible to rewrite EIC number at NIU2 as it is with NIU?

Thanks....

as far as I am aware no.

the niu worked by taking back the software revision and then rewriting the eic then putting the rev back to lastest.

AFAIK you can't do the same with the NIU2

no doubt there is another way, official or otherwise

hello
the only thing you have to do to rewrite EIC is to send the NIU2 back to ///

cheers

there IS a way, but I'm not allowed to tell you. [spin]

Hi whosrdaddy
Yes there is a hidden command to erase EIC for each revision on NIU2. but I think it is against the law to tell!!!! others

Is this the correct way to approach the question?
If you know the answer, and still won't tell it, don't bother!
We all (2 of us) know how to solve it, but this is not the right place even to discuss!

hi dady,
can you atleast give us some hints of how to do it, just a hint :)
another question , how can i enable the enhanced niux mode in the NIU2 ??

thnx

i'll give a small hint (this has already been discussed on this forum, try the search functions)

NIU1 enhanced niux mode is : h niuxx (firmware R10A)

NIU1 and NIU2 have same firmware base, only difference is that NUI1 contains SCSI disk functions and NUI2 ATA disk functions.

so its just a matter to find the password for each new revision and find the address of the invalideic function that we know from R6A...

so try to decode R6A soft and you have the key for ALL later versions. this is the last thing I'm going to say about this as a told you guys already too much [spin]

Hi fcpli
Really I do not know the hidden command, but I know it is there. We have to respect the Ericsson way that they used to protect there products.

What can I say more...
