Is there any way to put an auto attendant in 'nite' mode without putting the Magix in nites or using a schedule? Thanks

The whole idea of Night Mode is to describe a condition that is distinctly different from normal working hours. If you don't use the Messaging scheduler or a Night Service button to indicate that condition, the distinction between working and non-working hours doesn't exist.

Maybe you just need to rephrase the question. What is it you are trying to accomplish? For example, if you simply want the Automated Attendant to play the same greeting all the time, then Night Service doesn't even need to be considered.

The AA has menu options and the extensions these point to are not always manned during the day so the user would like to be able to basically get a 'closed' greeting instead of the normal 'press 1 for this, press 2 for that'. Does that make sense?

I'm beginning to understand.

You are aware that you can manually toggle Night Mode, right? You don't HAVE to wait for the switch to follow some pre-defined schedule...you can override it with a button.

As I see it, a difficulty arises when these few extensions are unavailable to answer calls (they're effectively "closed"), but the other parts of the company are still going at full speed and aren't closed.

If that's the case, then we need to design some coverage rules for those few extensions and leave the Automated Attendant out of it. We'll let the AA advertise the open/closed hours for the company in general, and the personal mailboxes for said extensions to handle their specific conditions.

Will that work for you, or do I need a better picture?

I am aware of toggling the entire system from day to nite and vice versa, but I just can't toggle an individual AA from day to nite, correct?
What I ultimately need is a queueing calling group with 2 members and hold announcements (which I have now) that, at any given time, day or nite, when no one is at those phones, I can send the calls to a vmail box that will play a closed greeting and disconnect.
I'm using a calling group with no members that overflows to vmail and getsa match on an AA whose 0/timeout sends it to the calling group mentioned above. This to have a day and nite greeting and use a schedule.
I can do away with the AA if I have to. Clear as mud huh?

What i did was use an analog station looped (601 ), to a line port.let's say 806, I then put line 806 into call coverage group 779 , overflow to voice-mail, using Attendant 2 after announcement to disconnect, when i'm ready to close the parts dept, I forward call to station 601. It's play the parts dept is closed ,while sale is open which they forward to 600 att 1
