hi arche,
have u configured ur HP-UX machine as nis client. u can do it thru SAM. but first u got to check whether u have loaded NIS/NFS software. u should have the output of domainname ready when configuring NIS client.
Step 2 is to put a "+" (plus) as the last line of ur /etc/passwd file of ur HP-UX client.
