My department was recently changed to a different subnet (192.168.1.255 from 192.168.0.255) by our Net Admin.

I used netconfig to update the network information on my RedHat 7.2 linux terminals and my NIS server. All of my network connections seem to be working correctly, but whenever I try to connect to a terminal using an Xterm, ftp, ssh, or even change to super user, the logon prompt takes anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds where before it used to be instant. What did I miss?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tested any of these operations (e.g. FTP) using the IP address (vs. IP name) of the system you are connecting to? Doing so may help you pinpoint your problem.
