Does anyone know which port i need to permit through my router so i can use a nis+ server on my company's network through the internet. I have already got the permission through the firewall at work in place? I was toold 6000 is for Xwin but i need nis resolution also. Thanks in advance

NIS+ uses rpc to communicate so you would be looking
at port 111 (portmapper), see the man page for rpcbind.
The nis+ daemon entries can be seen in /etc/rpc as follows:
nisd 100300 rpc.nisd
nispasswd 100303 rpc.nispasswdd
