NIS calls no WU an error...

I am using NIS 2007 and I want windows update turned off. NIS thinks this is a problem, and throws the red '!' up on the tray icon. This is a problem 'cause if the tray icon is always indicating an error, I won't know if something really IS wrong. How do I get NIS to ignore the fact that windows update is not set to automatic?
