I am using XP, and have been successfully using Norton Internet Security 2005. I have just upgraded to NIS 2008 and it will not complete a full scan and will not do a quick scan at all and locked up the PC.
Symantec Tech help remotely checked, uninstalled, re-installed & after three hours allegedly sorted the problem. The technician completed a full scan remotely and that all was sorted and the tech thought that it was a conflict with an update. The next day after switching on the PC a window appeared telling me to install updates. After doing so I tried to do a full and a quick scan. Neither worked and the PC locked up on both occassions. I contacted by 'phone tech help again, and again they remotely checked the PC and unsuccessfully tried to run a scan. A couple of hours later I was told that the only way that I could do a scan would be in safe mode.
Please can anyone out there help.
