I have a strange issue with Norton Internet Security 2004 and Internet Explorer.
When I hook up this laptop(XP Home) to my router at home with a CAT5 cable, the IE can access the net just fine with NIS ENABLED.
When I bring it back to the customer's home, where they use a USB cable to connect to their cable modem, NIS doesn't allow IE access to the net. I've removed it from the program list in NIS and re-launched IE to get it back in the permissions list with full access granted every time. I've even manually changed NIS's setting to allow all traffic for IE.
As of right now, I have Windows Firewall protecting them(for what it's worth).
Is there any different configuration when using the USB cable that would cause this? I'm assuming that it's an issue with NIS...but has anybody heard of this? Could there be another item in NIS's programs list that might be blocking IE? I have granted full access to IE, but still no luck.
