Have you ever seen the following NIM bug.

Remove /etc/niminfo from NIM client workstation gldi001

To recreate niminfo use # niminit -a name=gldi001 -a master=meek -a master_port=1058 I ran that command on the client gldi001 and...

...I get an error: 0042-147 niminit: this command may not be executed on a NIM master

Thanks,

Sorry, I forgot to add this is on an AIX 4.3.3 ML11 OS.

Monitor out of pixels, I'll need to go grab a box and fill'r up.

if you do an init trough the websm interface , does it give the same error?

I haven't used websm, but I have tried it from smitty and gotten the same error.

Found the problem. Apparently the NIM image I used to upgrade the box had a NIM master setup on it unbeknownst to me. I took that off and all works fine now.
