Hello,
I have two nim servers in different locations (nim1, nim2). Both are installed on the same AIX level 5300-07-04-0818. I have two identical spots and two identical lpp_sources on each of these NIM servers. Of course the file rights/permission are identical in 'sbin' in spot dirs on both nim servers.
When I run nimadm on nim1 and want to migrate AIX on alternate disk on CLIENT, everything works perfect. But when I run nimadm on nim2 the migration fails on the beginning with error:
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Executing nimadm phase 1.
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Cloning altinst_rootvg on client, Phase 1.
Client alt_disk_install command: alt_disk_copy -M 5.3 -P1 -d "hdisk0"
ksh: /ALT_MIG_SPOT/sbin/alt_disk_copy: 0403-006 Execute permission denied.
0505-187 nimadm: Error cloning altinst_rootvg on client.
Cleaning up alt_disk_migration on the NIM master.
Cleaning up alt_disk_migration on client kewlar2.
Client alt_disk_install command: alt_disk_install -M 5.3 -X
ksh: /ALT_MIG_SPOT/sbin/alt_disk_install: 0403-006 Execute permission denied.
0505-192 nimadm: WARNING, cleanup may not have completed successfully.
The file permission in both cases are identical and user root is executing the nimadm. How NIM mounts the spot nim1 that alt_disk_install can be executed and when nim2 mounts can't execute?
# ls -al *alt*

thanks for any hint!
