Hi

I have a problem when I initialize NIM to a BOS install. The master tell me that he can't use the
network interface of the client. I verify with "ping" commande the network connection, and it seems
all right. Please help me !!

Expose exactly what is your error message and maybe i could help you "Unix, it's like French : nothing is impossible"

Ok windjam :

I have two machines RS6000 : one of them is configured as master for NIm. The second is configured
as a client.
On the master machine, we are ready for a BOS installation (lpp_ressources, dd_ressources, SPOT).
So, I perform NIM to a BOS installation. After two minutes, there is an erroe message :
"Impossible to allocate the resources SPOT1 to the customer, because he can't use the network interface of this customer"

Thanks

Hmmm...not a common problem.

I've two ideas :

+ check your platforms by typing a #bootinfo -p on your two boxes. Then check if your NIM client configuration is good (chrp, rs6k or rspc)

+ check your client's ethernet NIM configuration : cable's field should be at N/A if you use RJ45 and ethernet type's filed should be at ent0

Besides, latest firmware for your platforms could help

Good luck ... "Unix, it's like French : nothing is impossible"
