NIM Client Problems

Hello All,

I have a 44p Model 170 Machine and I am trying to install mksysb image with NIM. After providing all the pre-requisities to nim_bosinst in smitty, the client reboots. During booting it says

Unable tp Resolve Server IP
Unable to Resolve Gateway IP
BOOTP: do-arp-req failed

It shows it four times and starts with its own boot instead of network boot. Can anyone describe where the problem lies ?

Hi

Did you have configured the MAC-Adress in the Servers Client Definitions.
The Best way ist to go in the SMS an Configure the Adapter Settings and execute a Ping, to Look if you can see the NIM-Master.
Or if you Maschine has a Image, Configure the IP-Adress and the Adapter Settings ( 100 Full ..) and check the Communication with the NIM-Master.
Then Initate the Installation Process.
