NIM CLIENT BUILD FROM MKSYSB 1

I'm struggling to figure out how to build a client LPAR from a mksysb across subnets. My NIM master is on a different subnet and I can do this process successfully to any machine on the same subnet.

Everything is AIX 5.3
I've got both subnets defined as networks
I've got my "Machine" defined

I can allocate the the mksysb to it just fine, however, when I do the SMS network boot ( after doing a IP ping test from the Client LPAR ) I get errors like


TFTP of first block failed, ABORT
!BA010005 !

"No operating system installed"

I do it exactly the same as I have done many times to clients on the same subnet.

Do you have any tips?

Firewall maybe ??? probally blocking TfTP,Bootp

I wondered about that. I'm going to have to check with the network group today.

That was it. FTFP was being blocked on one of the subnets and not the other.
