NIM and Mksysb

0042-001 nim: processing error encountered on "master":
0042-304 m_mkbosi: Unable to obtain the space allocation lock for
server "master". Only one SPOT, lpp_source, or mksysb resource
can be simultaneously created or modified per file system on a
5.2 or above NIM server. Wait for the other operations on this
server to complete or attempt to bypass the space lock
"/var/adm/nim/space_lock.master.21" by specifying the "force" attribute.

I have AIX53 and when I run the nim_mksysb script I get the above error message.Any pointers are welcomed.

This means that the resource that you are trying to use is already being used by other system!

easy way out is to go to the NIM master and reset the resource allocation:

smitty nim
Perform NIM Administration Tasks
Manage Machines
Perform Operations on Machines
(You choose the machine that you have doubt in using the above resource)
(then choose reset option)

You can check as well the following for resource allocation:

smitty nim
Perform NIM Administration Tasks
Manage Machines
List Allocated Network Install Resources
(and then you can go one step back and use
Deallocate Network Install Resources)
