Does anyone know if you can put multiple hunt groups into
night service at the same time.
i.e. dial one short code to switch all specified groups into night service.
Afetr a little experimentation it appears that a single code can be used to set n/s on multiple groupes in the following way
1)create a short code to set each group (do not use * or # in the short code)
2) creat a dummy user for each group, set forward uncontitional to the n/s short code & enable forward hunt group calls.
3) create a new group type hunt & include each of the users created in step 2
this has been tested with 2 groups on an IP401 1.4(22)
As long as you have DT phones you can set a dss button to to set HG's to night or out of service using the options in the digital telephony tab on the user, this will set whatever groups the user is a member of.
If using 1.3937) or 1.4(22) s/w the correct Avaya supported method is
1.Place the receptionist in all of the hunt groups , disable her if she is not to recive calls./
2. create a short code or amend the default code to represent.
Short code: *21
Tel no: leave blank
Feature: Set hunt group night service
and
ShortCode : *20
Tel no : Leave Blank
Feature: Clear night service
You can then create a toggled button on the users to set the reception group with this short code in and out of service, this will make all the groups that she is amember of in night service
IPOJedi, that works as well.
The only problem is if i make reception a member of all groups and disable reception for certain groups, that can be changed by pressing the group key on the DT handset. I will then have a service call to correct the group membership?
Can you disable the group key?
You cannot disable the group key (yet , I know that this has been passsed to avaya as a feature request by a number of maintainers)
I sugest you return to my earlier "cheat" using a hut group with dummy users.
alternatively the receptionist could LOGON witha temporary hotdesk no to enable N/S but this is an added level of complexity.
IS it not posible to avoid all of this by using time profiles & having automatic N/S?
