I have a customer with a Magix and copper lines. I have set up time of day control for the night greeting, which works fine. I am having difficulties getting it to play the day greeting, however.

When the cover control button is pushed, it plays the day greeting immediately. When the button is not pushed, it goes to the operator's mailbox instead of playing the day greeting. Is there a way to use the cover control button to play the day greeting, but to have it ring 4 or 5 times before the greeting plays? Does the fact that he has three operators interfere with the operation of the button? I have read the night service portion of the feature reference guide but can't figure it out. Thanks!

With copper lines, I would set-up a phantom extension (adjunct) and assign the lines to that extension. Then, assign primary line ownership to that extension for the lines. Add that extension to voicemail cover group (usually set as 30). Finally, go into voicemail and create auto-attendant 1 as that user (under extensions). Now, it will ring the specified number of rings for that extension prior to going to AA1.

The only issue is that at night, it will still ring 4 times prior to the attendant answering.

If I do it this way, will the lines still ring on the operator phones? I would think they would...thanks.

Yes. I assume the system is in key-mode. You can still leave the lines on the operator phones and have them ring there as well. They will just be "owned" by the phantom extension so when they hit the cover threshold they will go to the attendant assigned to that phantom extension.
