We have a Norstar MICS 7.0 with Callpilot 150 mini voicemail.
On the receptionist's phone there is a button labelled NIGHT, it has been programmed with Feature 871. (Ringing Service)
Reception presses this button at the end of the day, and again at the beginning of the day, and it changes the greeting people get when they call us.

This was programmed by somebody else, so I don't know all the details.
Now reception wants to know if it is possible to access the phone system remotely and 'press' the button. This would be useful if the receptionist was late but we wanted to go into day mode.
Can this be changed remotely?

Thanks

The night button does not change the greeting. Automated attendant greetings are based solely on time of day. The button's only purpose is to change the ringing pattern. In this instance it probably redirect incoming calls to the voice mail system. It possible to automate this process so that pressing the button is unnecessary, but it not possible to manually change remotely.

You can't do this with norstar or the bcm for that matter

You can with ip office :)

phoneguy, I thought you couse a DISA DN and turn it on. Maybe that's one feature you cann't use remotly.

Hmmm now that you mention it, I don't see why you couldn't

It's worth a shot

The only feature available to remote users is the Page feature.

Other than that, a remote user can dial a line pool access code, a destination code or a target line number.

Turning a service on or off has to be done at a control set. Remote users do not have a DN, so they can't be designated as a control set. This explains why the Ringing Service feature is not available to remote users.

There is another solution: using the Remote Set tool. There are more details in this post: thread799-578811.

How about setting up the non business greeting to be the same as night greeting. I think you can open and close the business remotely by logging into the 102 mbox.
