night service panasonic 816 and tvs 80

have Panasonic set to go to the auto attendant on 4 rings but customer wants a night button or to put system in night mode by the code 780 and 781 if they leave early on some days. i put the system in the night mode but the voice mail will not play the 2nd recorded greeting which is the night greeting. have checked ports on the voice mail for night and the are set correctly, even set the time on the day menu on the voice mail, but what would tell the voicemail that it is set for night before the time for night begins. later model tva follow the tda setting but not sure on the older kxt version. this is a version 6 and the voice mail is tvs 80. dil on night is set to 165 by the way. the voicemail answers on the first ring when put in night mode, just answer with the day company greeting. custom greeting are the same for day and night.

the voicemail services would have to be set to pbx control and that working will depend on if you 816 supports this option.
 
totally agree but cannot find anything in programming guide or installation guide on what release started doing this.
 
what release 816 do you have first. The system goes into night mode at the system level which should talk to the VM. I believe and you will find on the website a tech release telling you what each release added/changed. You can't change to night mode if its 10AM and expect the system to know that. Try putting a message in afternoon/break mode instead. Code is 782 and 783, but it is always best to be at generic 6. You are also wasting your time with a TVS80 or any TVS, use a TVA 50. Brad
 
If it is just a night mailbox we used to set night to dil to reception phone and they would do a fwd to vm as well at night

This will send the call to reception mailbox and play the night message and allow messages to be left. message lamp would light on that phone to say there is a message in the mailbox
