Hi there,

Is there a feature in Partner Messaging R7 that performs the following task:

1) A frantic third-shift manager calls our office, but it's after hours
2) He leaves a voicemail message for one of us (my boss, hopefully)
3) The person he leaves the message for gets a cell phone call a few minutes later that notifies him that he has received an emergency voice mail

We're wanting to do this, not only for ourselves, but for a doctor who wants this capability when someone calls his office afterhours.

To expand a little, you can turn on outcalling for Priority messages only, so you don't get paged for every message that is received. However, it requires the caller to press 1 at the end of their message, press 2 (I think) to mark it as Priority, and then # to send the message. Not very intuitive for the caller.

You can create a second mailbox, and set the "Personal Operator" in the main mailbox to go the 2nd one. The second mailbox has outcalling set to all messages. The first mailbox says "leave a message, or if this is urgent and you need to page me, press zero." If the caller presses 0, they get the 2nd mailbox, which takes the message and then calls the cellphone.

Depending on the version of mail (VS 5 and up) you can have as many as five (count'em 5) numbers that will be called. The calling is stopped when either the proper pin is input or the programmed cycle ends.
That means the primary person is called and finally, a "safety" or backup number is called. You can make it as fancy or simple as you need.
