Hello all!

I have an Avaya Partner ACS R8 system, with Auto Attendant setup and running fine (thanks to TouchToneTommy!).

I setup the number of rings in "Night Service Mode" to 0 with #506. So technically, when I press the "night service" button, the system should pickup after 0 rings. But it doesn't and picks up after 6 rings. In the day mode I have it set to 5 rings and it still picks up after 6 rings. This isn't really a big problem, but I just don't want the possibility of a caller hanging up early after hours because the AA is too slow to respond.

Thanks in advance!
Sam

If it does eventually pick up, but not on the setting that you have in #506, then you probably have some extensions in Hunt Group 7 that are not the actual voicemail ports. The call will ring at one (incorrect) port, not get answered, hunt to the next (incorrect) port, not get answered, hunt to the next (correct) port, and voila', the AA answers.

So I should use "#505" to remove the unnecessary phones in the Hunt Group 7?

So by proper Voicemail extensions you mean like the ones that have a mailbox? Such as extension 10,11,12, etc?

Sorry for being such a noob at this...

Thanks,
Sam

Not extensions that have a mailbox, that's covered by #310. In #505-7 are the Voicemail PORTS. What voicemail do you have, which slot is it in, and what other cards are in which slots?

Sorry for the late reply! I just wanted to get some good pictures...

I currently have an Avaya Partner Messaging module with a Partner ACS R8 in a 5-slot carrier. All other slots are empty. There's also some type of "PC card" in the voicemail.

Here are some pictures:

So, the only extensions you want in #505, hunt group 7 are: 19, 20, 21,22,23,24. All others need to be removed. Users with mailboxes 10-18 should be under #310.

that is exactly it, also check extensions higher up than 24 as sometimes they get assigned as well and can cause trouble.
