I have a general longstanding problem on BCMs setting up night service. If i use autoattendant the timings and destinations are taken care of just fine by CCR trees etc.
Not everybody wants AA though.

If i dont use autoattendant i generally point target lines at hunt groups for day ringing. Manually forwarding a phone with the target line on it works fine for night messaging but i would like the option of a timed night ringing switch so that incoming calls ring on different or additional extensions in the business.

I have gone through all the programming in scheduled services and set up ringing groups etc.At the allocated time the appropriate " Service on" message appears on the control phone but the ringing occurs on the same extns as before ie those in hunt grps not the additonal phones i have put in ring grps.
The hunt grp phones are set for ring only (not appear and ring)so that is not the problem. The timetable is cutting in at the right time in scheduled service so its not a timing problem.
Any ideas of what i might be missing? Have i got the right idea that ring groups are for phones that you want to ring in addition to the normal routing?
I have done a search and cant find an explanation on this forum but my apologies if it has been covered before.

Phil.

Hence the ring groups.I mentioned the hunt grps in the night service to show i wasnt using ring and appear, might confuse the situation .

So on ring group 2 you have it set to go to the extension for the vmail. And then you have the correct attendant and trees setup on the table.

What we did was set up the AA to answer the incoming lines but for the day ringing we just set it for 12 rings (or what ever the highest setting was), then we set the ring group o pick up the same lines and set the times for the RG to come on and send it to the AA.

Essentially the AA is always on, they just have a long time to answer the calls during the day, then at night the ring group picks up immediately and tells the AA to answer immediately.

Is this what you are talking about, or did I misunderstand the question?

Neil, basically i wanted to do away with the AA altogether if possible whilst still keeping a timed schedule for night ringing.
I want DDI numbers to ring hunt groups during the day (via target lines) and at a predetermined time, without manual switching ,i want different or additional phones to ring for the night service.
The difficulty i have with your method is getting the ring group to work via a schedule if that is how you are doing it.When i schedule ring groups the service shows on at the right time but the ring groups do not seem to work.

Hope that clears it up a bit.
Phil

You can do that by just posting ringing service which also has scheduling capability. Set Night service to automatic and set the times/days in common settings.
