I have a Hipath 4000 with a night option #3 that has a phantom extension that forwards always to Voicemail.

When I go to ACWIN and change the night option from 1 to 3 and test, all I get is a RNA.
I went so far as putting the extension on a phone and forwarding it to voicemail to no avail.

What am I doing wrong?

My Hicom 300/9006 experience is that anything that is used for a night option must be 'real'. You need to create an analog extension on an analog port and set the forward on all conditions (I just check all the boxes including the all conditions boxes) to your voicemail number. You do not have to physically connect anything to the analog port (there does not have to be a phone on it).

I don't know if they changed it on the 4000, but for me night option extensions always waste an analog port....

I made the change and the effect remains the same , kinda like the song ..
Any other thoughts ???

Yeah, just for fun, if this AMO still exists in the 4000 (not sure). Assuming you can access Direct-AMO.

ADD-SUBFT

TYPE=STN
STNO=<your ext number of night station>
FEATCD=CFWVALBT
VCENO=<voicemail extension number> ;

that puts on variable call forwarding for all calls, which overrides everything else programmed into the system. Notice the semicolon - if you forget it just press Enter for the rest of the prompts.

Now that I think about it I do seem to remember having to do that too....

This AMO is no longer in effect.
thanks for your help.
I ended up deleting the voicemail box.
then doing a callprocessing mailbox and setting the forward option to RNA only. Now the calls goto the box immediatly.

Wierd.

donb01 is correct is using an analog port, then forward to whatever.

But, is the fowarding of the analog, select everything, except DND both internal and external.....give it a try.
