Hi,

I want to setup a night mode button on a 5420. Usualy it's pretty simple and a strait forward operation, but here, of course, I want something a bit more sophisticated.

I want, by pressing the night mode button, that the voicemail change it's menu.

Exemple: in the voicemail I have two menus, one called DayMenu and one called NightMenu, those are programed in the shortcode section, right now I used a condition to switch from one menu to the other it's all done automatically. In my Icoming Call Route, the destination is *900 (which is my short code to go in de voicemail node. I want to program, let's say *901 for my night menu)

So here's my question: Is there a way, when the night mode button is pressed to change the destination in the Incoming Call Route from *900 to *901? Or perhaps there a better way to achieve the same result?

Thanks
Kane77

Hi Kane77

Create two "phantom" groups without any destination and with VM Enabled, make sure queuing is turned off.
Name group 1 as "DayAnnouncement" ( or whatever you like ) and give the group a directory number like 100
Name group 2 as "NightAnnouncement" and give the group a directory number like 101.
In the incoming call route the normal destination is 100, the fallback destination is 101.
In VM Pro link the "leave" startpoint of group 100 to the day menu and the "leave" startpoint of group 101 to the night menu.
Program a button on the extension which puts group 100 in or out of service.
If group 100 is in service then the day menu is played, if group 100 is out of service the night menu is played.

The button displays the status of group 100 so it is visible if nightservice is activated.

cheers

Or use a user defined variable within vm pro and turn that on and off instead of putting the hunt group in and out of service.

Jamie asked for a method using a button not for a automated method, the other options will work as well but they cannot be easily managed and/or monitored by the end-user.

A user variable can be monitored easily by the user by setting up an extra call flow to check that status of the variable and play a message to tell you what the status is.

Sure, but taking a quick look on the display looks easier to me

Yes i agree with you.

Lets not argue amigo.

Thank Intrigrant for the info,

Everything you just said make alot of sense, but it doesn't work, weird. I'm running on IPO500 fw:4.0.7 and vmpro 4.0.18, do you know if there's a bug with this release? Because when I put the DayAnnouncement, out of service, it doesn't go to the Fallback extension that I program (which is NightAnouncement, or whatever else I put there).

Thanks

Will this work putting the fallback in the ICR?

Try putting the fallback group in the fallback tab of the huntgroup.

Exactly as intrigrant said but just the little change in the huntgroup rather than ICR as I stated.

Thanks Provider,

Yes I did tried it and it doesn't work I did that a 100 times in the past and it had always worked. That's why I'm try to know if it a bug in the release...

I will continue to tweak it.

Tell me some more. What happens with the call.
Especially in call status or monitor.

Well, when I look at the System Status,(I put different user in each group to see what going on, user1 in group DayAnon and user2 in NightAnon). So when I dial the group number (791 Day), the phone of user1 is ringing when In Service, wich is normal, but when I switch the DayAnon to Out Of Service mode, it should make user2 phone ring because he belong to the Fallout Group (NightAnon), but it still phone of user1 who's ringing, then the VM kicks in, (the VM Answer time is set to 5 sec).

I suspect a bug, unless it's me who's missing something.

here's the system monitor output when I call the group 791 GrJour (DayGroup) and 790 GrNuit (NightGroup), my username is cbergeron 816:

I have a few 4.0.7 sites doing this just fine!

mmmmm, what key are you using? and does it show it is in the state you wish it to be in?

Looks like a bug to me, you can see it goes to the night group but then it says it does not find the VM destination for this group.

CQ35158
Call to group doesn't go to Voicemail if both group and overflow are busy
Found in : 3.2.54
Fixed in : MT_RELEASE_3Q07_3.2

I think this applies to 4.0 also as it is build on the 3.2 core.
Do you have free alog ports?
If so then put one alog port in each group ( the same alog port is ok ).

I see this bit which I guess you were looking at too intrigrant.

You could put a temp fix in. try what intrigrant suggests if that works great. Create shortcode going to night menu. Create dummy user and forward huntgroup calls to the short code, then set the night group to hunt. See if this works to get you out the poop.

@TheProvider:

Yes I setup a button on my phone to Set HuntGroup OutOfService, and when it's in night mode I see the triangle beside it, I'm usin a 5410.

@Intrigant
I don't use analog phone here so I don't have any analog port. I program the almost same thing on 3.1 at another site last year and it was just working fine.

Weird

Ok just check one silly thing to satisfy me.
Where you doing your routings then?

On your key you say you are using Set Hunt Group OOS.
Are you using the OOS fallback in the Huntgroup?

If you are please try my suggestion above.

Well, for now I'm trying to see if work at the base level first, I put the nightgroup as a OOS Fallback in the huntgroup.

But now I'm leaving for home :) I'll try it on tuesday, and I let you know. (monday it's a holiday here, in Canada).

Thanks for your help, have a great weekend see you guys next week.

Kane77 :)
