BCM450, R6, just upgraded. At night, reception hard call forwards her phone to x248, nite bell. They were complaining that it wasn't rining enough times before going to Gen Delivery. I upped the cfna on x248 to 10 rings, but it still goes to GD after 4 rings. I tried changing the cfna on reception, which is 201, to 10 rings. No matter what I do, I cannot get even 201 to ring 10 times when called directly, it always goes after 4 rings. What the?

Check if you have Auto Attendant and see the settings after how many rings the AA is supposed to interrupt the ringing.

You can access the AA from the Element Manager choose Configuration->Applications->Voice Messaging, lunch call pilot.

You have on the menu on the left auto attendant, find the lines that you want, and see on how many rings it is supposed to answer.

Hope this helps.

The AA picks up after 2 rings. At night, they press "0", which is forwarded to x248 which is nite bell.

what is 'transfer return rings'? never heard of it.

It could also be called transfer callback. If a call is transferred by any extension (including voicemail) after a set number of rings the call returns to the extension that transferred the call. I don't know exactly where this parameter is in the BCM, but look for a heading called Feature Settings and then look for transfer return/callback rings. Default is usually 4 rings.

checked that, played with it, no change. So.... x201 at night forwards to nite bell. Callers at night, have the option to dial 0 for immediate assistance. They press 0, which is 201, which is forwarded to nite bell, x248. x248 rings 4 times and goes to Gen Delivery, even though x201 and x248 are set to 10 rings. If I UNFORWARD x201 and just call 201, it STILL only rings 4 times and goes to vm.
