I am teaching Novell 570 Adv NW Admin. In chpt 5, exercise 5-2, the students are to create an organizational ca, server cert.etc. We are using consoleone 1.3.3 installed on Win 98 workstations. I've installed the latest certificate server snapins. Now, when I try to access the security container, I get a message stating that NICI must be installed in order to create server certificates. I have looked at Novell support downloads but cannot find NICI for windows. I've read TID 10066559 "Layman's Guide to NICI", but that didn't help much. Can anyone shed some light as to what I'm to do or where I'm supposed to get a windows version of NICI? Thanks.

It is talking about a NICI for Windows 9x/NT/2K, the current version is 1.57 dated 8-1-01

If you go to the download currently at #5 is NICI for Windows. However, it is v2.4?? -----------------------------------------------------

Well, I thought this would be a straight forward installation. I installed nici, started up consoleone, and received the following message:
"NICI 2.0.2 or later is not installed on this client. The Certificate Servere snapin will not function until NICI is installed". I rebooted, but gget the same message.
I read the "readme" file on Novell's website for this download and it stated to install the file in the directory you want to upgrade. So, I installed it in both the
consoleone/1.2/lib/security and consoleone/1.2/snapin/security
directories and still get the same message. Can you tell me where/how I'm to install nici on my windows 98 workstation? Console one is located in:
c:\novell\consoleone\...
