We are currently looking at adding disks to our Nice Storage Center and possibly require an upgrade to the Raid card installed, so to add Raid 5, as our Sales agent believes our card cannot handle it.

She mentioned that possibly to add this in, we may need to rebuild the machine entirely, but we dont want to get a NICE engineer back onsite to do this if we can avoid the cost. Basically, the question is, if we took an Image of the Storage Center as it is, then would we be able to restore this image to the server and recover the SC app this way?

If not, obviously we would get an engineer back.

No calls are currently on SC as the previous admin did not cater for the Hard Drive space required

Assuming you have a dedicated server for storage center then this should be basic to re-install, it's probably much easier to rebuild than to backup and restore depending on what imaging software you are using.

I'm not sure how re-imaging will work with new RAID drivers and the like.

Its ok now, the Raid card is apparently a newer generation card than previously thought, so no need for rebuild. Thanks for your input RoamingKiwi
