Hello to all,
a customer with this system:
n ° 1 ip office virtual edition vers.10.1.0.100
n ° 1 ip office 500v2
n ° 110 ip phone 1608
n ° 13 ip phone 9608

the client asked me the following question:
why the phones when they restart or turn off once restored return with the loud ringtone?
can you keep the ringer at the volume that has been set even after a reboot or shutdown?

Do you have any suggestions??[hammer]

You need to setup a backup server.

Enter the BRURI in the 46xxsettings.txt file.
Set up a HTTP backup server so that the stations can backup their settings.

But this is all well documented in the installation ducumentation.

If you use Server Edition as HTTP server you get phone backup as well.

thanks for yours responding,
I use MV_IPTEL on microsoft server 2012 r2. the software send firmware and 46xxsettings file perfectly but the folder "PhoneBackup" don't function.

on 46XXSETTINGS file I change:

########### BACKUP/RESTORE SETTINGS (H.323 only) ##########
##
## Backup and Restore URI
## URI used for HTTP backup and retrieval of user data.
## Specify HTTP server and directory path to backup file.
## Do not specify backup file name.
## BRURI is not supported on 96xx, 16CC and 1603 SIP phones.
SET BRURI ##
## Backup/Restore Authentication
## Specifies whether authentication is used for backup/restore file download.
## Call server IP address and telephone's registration can be used as credentials.
## 0: Call server IP address and telephone's registration password
## are not included as credentials.
## 1: The call server IP address and the telephoneӳ registration
## password are included as the credentials in an Authorization request-header
## SET BRAUTH 0

bat I go to see a file on server responding:

Access Denied - not authorised to update

as if the mv iptel server does not give me the permission to read or write in that folder.

Just use the IP Office server as the backup for user settings files. Works a lot better and the IP Office will also auto-generate some of the settings (if I recall correctly) so much better sync with system configuration settings.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

ok, thanks, I'll try again with mv iptel if I do not move the file server to ip office.
thanks again and good work to everyone

What's the reason of using MV_IPTEL?

The point of using Server Edition as file server is that when you upgrade your IPO the phones will get the correct firmware for that release.

Just use the IP Office as the File server as already mentioned - in that case it will even move things like the ringer setting, key clicks, and volumes between IP phones and the Digital phones (not the rich ringtones obviously, and I can't remember the full list - not tried it for a long time)

ok thanks for answer.
but the ip office auto configure bruri?
I use MVIPTEL because I need configure VLAN, QOS, screensaver for 9608 phone. this parameters I can configured with ip office server or there are problems?
can these parameters be configured with the IP Office server or are there any problems?
the autogeneration of the file does not delete me the parameters configured manually?
I ask because it happened to me several times.

I forward you the file 46xxsettings I'm using now, do you think it's okay?

Don't post a config file as a post, use the attach file feature.

You configure VLAN with DHCP/LLDP, not the 46xxsettings file.

just about the LLDP protocol from this customers there are all cisco switches. through LLDP the cisco systemists have told me that they can only tell him the vlan but it seems that the phones are also sent of the DSCP parameters. it's possible? I am attaching the configuration of the peripheral switches where the phones are connected.

But do you need to change DSCP settings from deafault?

"Trying is the first step to failure..." - Homer

no I do not want to change the dscp but I found that some phones both 9806 and 1608 did not have the DSCP set by the 46XX file (which is the same as the ipoffice server)

You can put your individual 46xxsetting.txt onto the IPO. No need for an additional file server.
