Hello tek-tippers

There is a customer with a relative small scale solution of 24 channels VoIP CUCM 8.6.x, requesting resiliency

When they were requesting a resiliency option from NICE it was offered the MDC (Multi Data Center) solution which implies among other things a Cluster environment and another expensive gadgets.
So the sales manager got an idea of putting two twin 24ch SMB solutions recording Cisco Phones recording the same phones 100% of the time.
Of course this is not a Nice Approved Solution, but we are trying to check if it would work well on the reality.
About data base replication… there’s no way to link DBs from one system to another, customer agreed.
About CTI integration, the CUCM can have multiple CTI users, and they can monitor the same phones without glance.
About recording method, we prefer to use Active Recording, but there would be an issue regarding the SIP trunk, the VRSP, and the BiB, as far I know the BiB would clone the call only once, not twice or more.
That’s the 1st question
If we use System1 with Active Recording, and System2 with Passive Recording I guess It should work flawlessly, but a Nice boy said that the Passive Logger would get duplicate streams of Data from the phones (due to Active Recording) and would fail to record well.
That’s the 2nd question.
If we use both Systems with Passive Recording, there should be not problem at all, since we rely on the network switches features and the Nice boxes would work seamless one from another.

Hi IPOpotamus

I can't se why this should not work.

as mr JohanEikeland said

this should work!

And mates, this is working now, theres no trouble in mirror a phone that is working in active recording

the Active recording is working flawlessly, and also the passive recording.
The human work is to sync manually the associated devices, since we are using two different cti users, one for Active, another for Passive, but thats not hard in a 24ch system
