I have two different subnets running in my organization. One is the primary domain. One is a small bunch of computers. I need to see one of these computers from our domain. I really don't want to install a router if at all possible. Both of these groups have a different subnet. My question is, can I install two nics in the one computer that needs to see both networks? If I go in and set the subnet masks one each one will that computer be able to see both networks?

Thanks,

Shannan

You can actually link the two subnets using a computer with only one NIC. You need to add a secondary IP address to that NIC (which allows that computer to access both subnets). Then you can turn on IP forwarding on that computer to allow other computers on the primary network to reach the secondary network.

You will also need to define a route on all of the computers on the primary network that identifies the gateway to the secondary network as the host that has a secondary address on it.
