There seems to be very little data on NIC's that are compatible with GBIC's. We are pretty sure we want to use the G5484sx for multimode fiber. I found the intel pro/1000 XF but I dont know how propritary the cisco gbics are. What is every one else using? Are the Cisco Gbics propritary at all? This will be our first 10Base1000 to servers venture. And we have to use GBIC's because of a pending network redesign. We could use copper but i'de rather use fiber. What are you guys using?
