nic-duplex driver question 1

normally, when you jumpstart a solaris client you can

ok boot net - install
but the nic will work at 100 half duplex

ok boot net:speed=100,duplex=full -install
with the above command the nic can work at 100 full duplex,
how can this be when the drivers for the nic have not been loaded?

You are changing the nic parameters directly at the hardware (or obp) level. This is what a driver would also do anyway.
